The Nation's Triathlon would like to thank the National Park Service and the United States Park Police for their assistance in moving The Nissan Transition area to its new location in East West Potomac Park. This beautiful park is located adjacent to the Potomac River on the southern side of the Lincoln Memorial. This new home of our Nissan Transition Area is significantly larger than the one in 2007. So for example we will put fewer bikes on each rack giving you some additional breathing room on race day. It also let us shorten the distance from the transition area to the swim start and exit. In this new space more than 90% of the way both to and from the swim will be on grass. Just south is free parking courtesy of the National Park Service. The lot will be open on both Saturday and Sunday. The Nissan Transition Area opens Saturday from 1pm - 8pm. Everyone MUST check their bikes in on Saturday during the designated times. You will not be allowed to check in on race morning. Competitors wearing race bracelets can rack bikes during that time or come for a pre-race walkthrough. The Richardson Staircases will be installed so you can see exactly where you will be getting into and out of the water. Admittance to The Nissan Transition Area is by bracelet or or official race credentials. It re-opens race morning at 5am. This new transition area could not have come together without the support of our local and federal agency's and we thank them for their contribution to producing a world class event.
