Event Info - Packet Pick Up & Race Briefing

Race Briefing, Packet Pickup, Bike Racking

Due to The Nation's Triathlon's unique location in the heart of the Nation’s Capital and the associated closing of major roadways in downtown DC, all athletes (individuals and teams) MUST attend a race briefing before picking up race packets. That means ALL members of a team MUST attend the briefing and pick up their individual packet. Packets will NOT be distributed on race day. Race bracelets will be given to all athletes and will be inside of each packet. Packets will be held under Team name.

Packet pickup will be held at the Expo. It will be centrally located in Washington, DC.

Race Briefing and Packet Pickup Schedule

  • Friday, September 11th: 12:00 - 8:00 pm. Race briefings will be held every half hour, starting at 12:05 pm and ending 8:00 pm.
  • Saturday, September 12th: 10:00 am - 8:00 pm Race briefings will be held every half hour, starting at 10:05am and ending at 8:00 pm.

What to Bring to Packet Pick Up:

All athletes MUST bring all of the following:
  1. Government issued valid photo ID
  2. USAT card if a member

What to do when you arrive at the expo:

  1. Locate your bib number.
  2. Go to the USAT table and present your government issued photo ID and your current USAT card. If you do not have a USAT card you must become a one day member for $10.
  3. Attend the race briefing first and make sure your hand is marked on the way out.
  4. Find the registration table with your bib number and pick up your race packet.
  5. It is your responsibility to make sure everything you need is inside of your race packet. We will provide you with the checklist of items that should be in your packet. DO NOT LEAVE for the day until you are sure all items are in there. In the race packet is your race day bag and race day bagtag. Please make sure you bring both back with you on race day if you want to have any of your clothes or shoes waiting for you at the finish line.
  6. Walk over to the goody bag area and get your goody bag and race shirt.
  7. Check out the Expo: Walk around, visit with sponsors and exhibitors, and meet your fellow athletes.
